Turan Ali

Turan Ali has been a producer/director/writer of BBC radio dramas and comedies for 25+ years. He’s been a stage storyteller since 2012, and a stand-up since 2019. His solo show recently toured Europe and east Asia. He has two sell out monthly shows in Vienna and Edinburgh. “Utterly fabulous” (Q-Review).

6 years of stand-up experience. A solo show in 2 versions: "Straight Talking" (performed in Europe and Asia - a less rude version for conservative countries) and a ruder version "You Straights Are F**ked Up!" to be performed at this year's Edinburgh Fringe and London Queer Fringe Festival. Yes. I host a monthly show at the grand Volkstheater in Vienna and a bi-monthly show at Scotland's national storytelling theatre. Plus I have hosted comedy shows at TuzBiber in Istanbul and various comedy venues in Vienna. I run media, drama and comedy workshops internationally for the BBC and other broadcasters. I can run a workshop in Formats in Comedy. The different ways that comedy can be presented, especially in radio, TV and film. With comedians producing many videos and short films, there is a huge range of formats that can be used, but a tiny range is usually produced. This workshop gives comedians a huge new toolbox.
